The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in the November 21 election in Kogi State, Prince Abubakar Audu, said yesterday that the country has lost one of its finest and most revered traditional rulers.
Audu said this when he visited Niger State governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello, to commensurate with him over the death of Mai Borgu, Alhaji Haliru Dantoro, Kitoro III.
Accompanied by his running mate, James Abiodun Faleke, the governorship hopeful said, “we have come to commiserate with the governor and good people of Niger State over the death of one of our most revered and finest royal fathers. The late emir was a great patriot, bridge- builder and an accomplished traditional father and politician whose contributions to the socio-economic and political development of the country will be missed. It is our prayer that Allah grants him Aljana fridaus, reward him for his good deeds and forgive all his sins. We also pray that Allah consoles the people of his kingdom and immediate family members”.
The APC governorship candidate said the death of the royal father has created a vacuum too big to be filled.
Speaking on the November 21 governorship election in Kogi State, Audu said; “Our people are tired of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) misrule. This was clearly demonstrated by the large crowd that turned out on Saturday for our rally. We are sure of victory. We have done it before and we are set to do it again. Our people have confidence in our ability to put Kogi State back on course”.
