During a sympathy visit to the town at the weekend, Alhaji Usman Zannah, who represents the area at the House of Representatives, consoled the victims and prayed for lasting peace in the area and the country in general.
Zannah also presented to the victims food and other items.
Responding on behalf of the people of the local council, the District Head of Magumeri, Abba Fari Shehu Abubakar Garbai, commended Zannah for his visit and gesture.
He said the items donated would be judiciously distributed to the real beneficiaries, and urged individuals and corporate organisations to emulate the gesture, as almost all the people of the area are in dire need of assistance following the renewed atrocities posed by the terrorists.
