The suspended chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Magu has written to the Presidential Judicial Inquiry investigating allegations against him to subpoena the Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami.
In the letter signed by his lawyer, Wahab Shittu, Magu said Malami should appear to give evidence and tender relevant documents on his memo to the president alleging abuse of office against him.

The letter read in part: “The acting chairman of EFCC is not acting in the overall best interest of the country and the policies of this administration due to its mismanagement and lack of transparency in managing recovered assets; diversion of recovered assets for personal enrichment; neglecting to investigate the P&ID case as directed by the President; flagrant disobedience to directives and to court orders due to the following.”
When contacted, Malami’s spokesman, Umar Gwandu, told Daily Trust that the minister did not want to respond to Magu’s comments as the issues were still under judicial inquiry.
