The Chairman of the Ogun Waterside local government, Comr. Olufemi Onanuga, confirmed the arrest in a telephone chat with our Correspondent.
Onanuga expressed shock by the distance Lekan had covered. On the last 48hours, arousing suspicion of his acclaimed insanity.
"In fact he was crying and begging for leniency. We are all shocked. How can somebody we all know to be mad realize the magnitude of his offence to start begging," Onanuga wondered.

The Chairman said the Council leadership had visited the families of the late pupils to sympathise with them "assuring them that Lekan would be arrested and brought to book, but, the distance he had covered before his arrest baffled us," Onanuga told our Correspondent.
