The Executive Secretary, Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF), Dr. Bello Aliyu Gusau, has said that human resource development remains the most important project that drives the growth and development of the oil and gas sector.

Dr. Gusau said this at the first National Education Summit organised by the oil and gas Trainers Association of Nigeria (OGTAN) in Lagos recently.

Speaking on the topic, ‘Developing Capacity for the Oil and Gas Industry – Going Forward’, Dr. Bello said rapid advances in artificial intelligence, automation and human-machine interaction have not obscured the primacy of people in the running of oil and gas business.

The ‘human’, he said, is central to the development, performance and sustainability of resource and tools deployed in the industry, and efforts must therefore be stepped up to recruit more talented oil and gas graduates in the industry.
