Council elections into the existing 13 local government areas in Ebonyi State and the 171 wards on Saturday witnessed low turnout in all the polling units.
Our correspondent observed that the exercise, which was billed to begin at 8.30am did not start until about 11.30am in some polling units.

At the polling units at Pa Ngula Oruta township, only five voters were seen at about 11.35am.
Also, accreditation of voters was by the use of the Independent National Electoral Commission permanent voter’s card and it was done manually.
However, residents opened their shops for business activities just as operatives of motorbikes and keke (tricycles) were seen going about their daily businesses.
The exercise was however adjudged peaceful in some polling units, essentially in the state capital.
The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) featured candidates in some local government areas to contest the chairmanship position and councillors alongside the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
