Looting: FCT minister sympathises with victims, assures of security

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Muhammad Bello, has sympathized with victims of looting by hoodlums in Idu Industrial area, Gwagagwa, Jabi, and Kubwa, and has assured residents of improved security.

Bello who led officials of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) and the FCT Commissioner of Police, Bala Ciroma, on inspection of areas affected by the looting, expressed displeasure over the damage caused by the looters.

He enjoined those affected by the looting to be calm that the government in collaboration with security operatives would stop at nothing to fish out the culprits and bring them to book.

“We have checked all the factories and warehouses that were vandalised, I have seen the level of destruction and we have realised the extent of investment on the ground.

“Going forward, we are going to work with all the relevant agencies and stakeholders to make sure that Idu Industrial zone is provided with additional security measures,” he said.

He disclosed that 79 suspects have so far been arrested in connection with the looting and vandalization.
