The Nigeria Customs Service and the Federal Roads Safety Corps are counting losses after protesters looted their offices in Yola, the capital of Adamawa State.
The Customs Controller in charge of Adamawa and Taraba states, Kamardeen Olumoh said valuables ranging from computers, furniture, and appliances as well as vehicles parked in the premises had been looted during an attack on the office complex in Yola.

Olumoh, however, disclosed that a looter was unavoidably shot dead and another one injured when they attempted to break into the armoury.
“We acted with caution to preserve lives, otherwise you can imagine the number of lives that will be lost.
“We acted with caution to avoid loss of lives, unfortunately, one person was shot dead and another one injured when the vandals tried to loot our armoury”
Olumoh said the service was currently working to assess the quantum of loss and extent of damage on the headquarters after which he would make the details public.
Meanwhile, the Adamawa State FRSC commander, Ameh Ocheja said apart from the patrol vehicles his men managed to salvage, almost everything in the headquarters had been looted.
“We only succeeded in salvaging patrol vehicles. All office equipment, furniture, fittings including national and FRSC flags were carted away”, Ocheja stated.
” This is in spite of the deployment of police and NSCDC operatives who were overpowered by hoodlums”.
Also, the management of a rice processing firm, Shamad Concept Ltd had announced a loss of N188 million after hoodlums carted away a large quantity of rice from its warehouse on Sunday.
The Council Chairman of Numan Local Government, Innocent Koto who inspected the affected warehouse and a health facility in his domain to assess the level of damage called on youths to refrain from violence and channel their grievances through constitutional means.
