Lone PDP House of Reps member, Garbu, wins primary in Yobe

Hon. Sabo Garbu, the only House of Representatives member of Peoples People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Yobe state has won primary election to retain his seat.

Garbu is representing Potiskum/Nangere constituency of Yobe south senatorial district.

The election was held Friday at Muhammad Idrissa cinema hall in Potiskum town, Yobe state.

Returning officer of the exercise, Hon Baba Iyali Umaru, said Hon Garbu won the party’s ticket, having scored the highest votes of103, his immediate rival Umar Duddaye polled 98 while the second Abubakar Muazu got 11.

In his acceptance speech, the lawmaker said the victory is not for him alone, but for his co-contestants, his constituency and the good people of Yobe state.

“We are all winners in this election,, so we should all stay united and work together in ensuring success for the party”.

He commended the delegates for the confidence reposed in him and promise quality leadership that would benefit everyone in the state.
