The Vice Chancellor, Federal University Lokoja (FUL), Professor Olayemi Akinwumi, has inaugurated a 17-member steering committee to begin groundwork for the establishment of medical sciences programme in the university.
Performing the ceremony over the weekend, Professor Akinwumi said the inauguration was sequel to the Senate approval to establish medical and engineering courses in the institution at its 61st special meeting on Thursday.

Professor Akinwumi was optimistic that the medical college will commence operations next academic session.
The committee members who were appointed based on their academic track records were Professor Mike Ozovehe Ogirima of the Ahmadu Bello University Zaria as Coordinator/Chairman and Mr. Usman Abdul Kadir as Secretary.
Responding on behalf of the committee members, the Coordinator/Chairman of the committee, Professor Mike Ogirima promised to live up to expectation in delivering the assignment on time.
