‘Local printers can address Nigeria’s needs’

The Chartered Institute of Professional Printers of Nigeria, (CIPPON), says local printers have the capacity to meet the printing needs of Nigeria with a view to saving the country huge capital flight incurred on printing abroad.
The association’s position was in reaction to the recent statement of the chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC), Professor Mahmood Yakubu, that Nigerian companies lacked the capacities in printing ballot papers and other electoral materials.
But Lawal said it was not true Nigerian printers lacked capacity and wondered how the INEC’s who’s a non-printer assess and determine the level of printing capacity.
