Lobi Stars, Rivers United, Niger Tornadoes, EFCC, Bendel Insurance and giant killers Smart City FC of Lagos have booked places in the quarter-final of this year’s Aiteo Cup after their victories in the Round of 32 matches played yesterday.

Rivers United didn’t go through the ‘game of lottery’ as they pipped former NPFL side, Warri Wolves 2-0 in Yenagoa just as giant killers Smart City who were too smart for Enyimba in the Round of 32 sent 3SC packing 5-4 on penalties after playing 0-0 draw in regulation time.
In Lokoja, high riding NNL side, Aklosendi FC of Lafia were arrested by EFCC Abuja who beat them 5-4 on penalties after 1-1 draw in normal time.
It was another sad tale for Relegated El-Kanemi Warriors in Jos as they fell 5-4 on penalties to Bendel Insurance after their match ended 1-1 in regulation time.
Meanwhile, Kano Pillars will battle Kwara United and former champions Plateau United will face another giant killer, Calabar Rovers today in the remaining matches in the Round of 32.
