In continuation of their pre-season tour, Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) sides, Lobi Stars of Makurdi and Wikki Tourists of Bauchi played out a 0-0 draw on Saturday at the New Jos stadium.

The match played early in the morning served as a return leg fixture as both clubs had met the previous day at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa stadium in Bauchi.

The match played on Friday, December 9 ended in a 1-1 draw after vastly experienced Joseph Atule restored parity for the visitors after Abubakar Aliyu’s opening goal in the 11th minute of the keenly contested match.

However, in yesterday’s match, neither side was able to break the deadlock as Lobi Stars young goalkeeper, Joseph Orya, stood firmly between Wikki Tourists and victory.

In a post match interview, the Vice-chairman of Lobi Stars, Dominic Iorfa, expressed satisfaction with the performance of his boys.

He also said he was happy with the spirit of sportsmanship displayed by players on both sides.

The former Nigerian international said “It was a good performance from the boys. We brought in a couple of new players so we are still blending.

“In the coming days, we would play more crack friendlies to get the team in top shape for the 2022/2023 NPFL season.”

Iorfa hinted that Lobi Stars would take on Nasarawa United in Makurdi before the proposed friendly with the Flying Eagles in Abuja.
