It will be recalled that some MFM supporters & officials encroached onto the field of play and attacked the centre referee during their Match Day 26 clash with Enugu Rangers in Lagos last Sunday.

MFM have been fined N3m cumulatively for failure to provide general security, for encroaching onto the field of play and unsporting behaviour of their players, officials and fans.

MFM team manager Geoffrey Aghogi was banned indefinitely from all NPFL-organized activities including matches for harassing match officials while MFM players Jerry Isaac and Christian Molokwu have been suspended for the next 12 matches for their involvement in the infraction in this first instance.

Meanwhile, the physically assaulted centre referee in the match that ended in a barren draw at the Mobolaji Johnson Sports arena in Lagos will get a compensation of N250,000 and any other additional verifiable medical costs.

In the same vein, Kwara Utd have also been charged for breaching the NPFL Framework & Rules in their Match day 26 fixture against Rivers United at the Ilorin township stadium.

Some supporters of Kwara United have been found guilty of encroaching onto the technical area/field of play, causing disorder & bringing the league to disrepute in the course of the match.

Kwara United have, therefore, been fined N1 million for encroaching onto the field of play and will play their next home match against 3SC behind closed doors.

Meanwhile, the LMC has opened a 7 working day window for both teams to pay all fines or elect to appeal the sanctions.
