The League Management Company (LMC) organizers of the Nigeria Professional Football league, NPFL has given provisional approval for Kano Pillars to return to its home ground, Sani Abacha stadium next season.

It will be recalled that Pillars used the Ahmadu Bello Stadium Kaduna as their home ground last season.

According to the Media Officer of the club, Lurwanu Idris Malikawa in a statement, the LMC gave the approval at the end of an inspection of the Kofar Mata home ground of the club, which carried out on Saturday.

“League Management Company said it is satisfied with the current situation of Sani Abacha Stadium Kofar Mata Kano the home ground of Sai Masu Gida. Chief Operating Officer of LMC, Salihu Abubakar led the team that inspected the facilities at the stadium this evening (Saturday).

“Salihu Abubakar said the situation of the stadium is impressive and the Sai Masu Gida will play their home matches on their home ground this coming season.

“Alhaji Salihu Abubakar said the facilities we see on the ground here in Sani Abacha Stadium Kofar Mata Kano is far better than some of the stadia in the country.

“We want Kano Pillars fc to return back to their home ground this coming season, but there is some minor repairs, which we discussed with Kano state commissioner of sports, Kano state Football Association, KSFA, Kano Pillars Fc management and the stadium management and we expect them to conduct the minor repairs within short period of time,” Malikawa stated.
