Lions Clubs Int’l injects $6.5m into Nigeria’s humanitarian intervention

Lions Clubs International yesterday said $6.5m projects of its $200m humanitarian interventions in Africa were in Nigeria.

A past international director of the club, who doubles as the LCI Foundation Area Leader in Africa, H. O. B. Lawal, stated this in Abuja when LCIF Chairperson, Douglas Alexander from the United States, visited Nigeria.

He said, “The LCIF, which PIP Douglas Alexander now heads, has undertaken numerous humanitarian interventions of over $1bn around the world since its inception over 54 years ago.

“In Africa, its intervention has reached $200m, and in Nigeria alone, its intervention on projects dotting our geographical landscape is over $6.5m.”

Lawal said Africa and Nigeria on the other hand had respectively contributed over $8m and $1.2m to LCIF.
