Lightning strikes two siblings dead in Osun

Two siblings were killed by lightning in Ikirun, Ifelodun Local Government Area of Osun State, during a heavy downpour on Sunday evening.
The two girls from the same mother, one 14-year-old and the other 16-year-old, were killed by the lightning at the Orisa-Elejin area of the town.
Eyewitnesses said the girls stole an item and the stolen item was found at the scene where they died.
An eyewitness, who doesn’t want his name in print, said: “The girls were killed by thunder.
“People are saying that they stole money and the owner might have sent thunder to them. That’s all I know.”
Another resident of the town told Daily Trust that the girls stole a woman’s money a few days ago and that the woman threatened to deal with them, but no one expected it to take their lives.
“They are siblings who stole wallet (igbanu) a few days ago and the owner promised to deal with whoever stole her wallet.
“The lightning killed the two this evening. The stolen wallet was seen on the younger one,” he said.
