The police in Sokoto have confirmed that the lifeless body of a 13-year old boy was found hanging in a building in the Sokoto capital.
The incident reportedly happened at Damboa area of Sokoto.
The Police Public Relations Officer of the State Police Command, El-Mustapha Sani, who confirmed the incident,said it occurred on March 24.
He disclosed that the police had arrested a 16-year old boy over the death of the teenager.
According to the PPRO:” The suspect was said to have gone to the family house of the deceased and threatened his mother, to return some money the deceased had allegedly stolen from his mother. The mother of the deceased was said to have refunded N 1,500, which was rejected by the mother of the suspect, alleging that the money was more than that.”
He added:”The suspect had reportedly on the fateful day went to the family house of the deceased and told his mother to come and carry his remains.”
The Police spokesman added that the mother of the suspect was at large.
He said investigations were still on to unravel the mystery behind the death.
