The Edo State Local Government Councils have shared N2.95 billion for the month of July as against N2.18 billion shared in June.
Speaking after the Benin Joint Account and Allocation Committee (JAAC) meeting on Tuesday, the Head of Local Government Administration, Esan South East Local Government, Mr. Macauley Ehonor, said out of the N2.95 billion, N1.45 billion was used for mandatory expenditures such as payment of primary school teachers’ salaries, one per cent training fund, as well as five per cent payment for traditional rulers.

Ehonor explained that after the mandatory expenses, N1.49 billion was left for the 18 local governments to share.
