The local government election held in Kebbi State yesterday was generally peaceful as turnout of voters was also impressive.
When Daily Trust on Sunday visited Ladan Namusa and Mai Alelu Kofar Kola polling units in the state capital, voters were seen casting their votes peacefully.
Reports from Yauri and Zuru local government areas also indicated that the election was peaceful as security agents were seen stationed in strategic places.
One of the voters, Ibrahim Bagudu, said the turnout was impressive as many came out to exercise their civic right, saying the peaceful atmosphere also encouraged the turn-out.
