The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Adamawa State has announced N10 million as the cost of purchasing its form to contest for the position of a local government chairman in the upcoming local council election in the state.
Speaking at a press conference in Yola, the state capital, on Wednesday, Tahir Shehu, a lawyer and the party’s chairman, also announced N120,000 as the cost of obtaining a nomination form for the position of councillor.
He, however, said that in a bid to promote gender equity and inclusivity for people living with disabilities, the party had offered a 50 percent discount on the cost of nomination forms for women and those living with disabilities.
Shehu also disclosed the schedule for activities leading up to the July election, which includes the sale of nomination forms from June 7 to 12, the sale of three ad hoc delegate forms on June 10, and the screening of aspirants from June 15 to 16.

The councillorship and chairmanship primaries will take place on June 21 and 22, respectively, with the hearing of appeals set for June 23, he added.
