LG pensioners plead Governor Sule’s intervention

Members of the Nigeria Union of Pensioners (NUP) in Nasarawa State have appealed to Governor Abdullahi Sule to intervene in the release of funds by local government council chairmen to pay their gratuities and pensions.

Chairman of the union, Alhaji Musa Obakpa, made the appeal to mark this year’s Pensioners Day in Lafia.

According to him, “Retirees, especially at the local government level, have continued to be subjected to more hardships due to non-payment of their entitlements.”
