LG autonomy: Presidential aspirant wants actions on Supreme Court ruling, urges youths to shun protests

A 2023 presidential under the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Dr. Cesnabmililo Nuhu Aken’Ova has called for the full implementation of the Supreme Court judgement on Local Government Financial Autonomy to prevent it from being mismanaged.

She made the call yesterday in Abuja.

She commended the Supreme Court for the landmark judgement which she said is a significant milestone in promoting grassroots development, and democratic restructuring in Nigeria.

Dr. Aken’Ova also urged Nigerians to be patient with President Tinubu’s administration and see how the benefit would trip down to the local government level.

She urged the Nigerian youths to support President Tinubu’s in achieving the Renewed Hope Agenda instead of embarking on a planned nationwide protest.

She said the Honourary Doctor of Laws Award to her by Gold Mind Resource Seminary at the Salvation Teaching Centre in Abuja is a welcome development for her to give more to the people.

She however urged the federal government not to take its citizens for granted while advocating for more security measures to be put in place to ensure sustainable development in the country.

The Bishop of Salvation Teaching Centre and Senate President of Gold Mind Resource Seminary, Dr. Samso Shangyibwa charged the awardees who are also known as Ambassadors of Christ to do more in their service to God and humanity.

Bishop Shangyibwa said the present situation cannot be blamed on one person and that protest cannot manufacture miracles.

He said there is hope for Nigeria and urged the federal government at all levels and leaders to be conscious and do the needful for the citizens.
