He said the state is operating on the pedestal of peace, as such, it will not tolerate any tribal clash or war with other states.

“No more tribal wars, in Kogi; no more war with Enugu; no more war with Anambra; no more war with Edo; no more war with Benue. We need peace”, Bello stated.

He said the state is more united than before as there are no more tribal sentiments. Bello stressed that his administration makes decisions based on merit and not sentiment.

“We are only interested in what you can offer. Youths have taken charge of the state; we have taken our position today, not tomorrow in Kogi,” he said.

Meanwhile, Bello has permitted Professor Marietu Ohurene-Tenuche, the Vice-Chancellor of Prince Abubakar Audu University, Anyigba, to keep all the institution’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) to develop the infrastructure in the institution.

“Considering your prudent management of resources, I hereby announce to you the decision of my administration to leave 100 per cent of your IGR to you to utilise for infrastructural development. This is because you have demonstrated what this institution stands for, credibility, accountability, and judicious use of resources,” he said.

In her remarks, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Marietu Ohurene-Tenuche, commended Governor Bello for his kind gesture stating that she will continue to do things to justify the trust reposed on her.

The VC said that 94 graduands made First Class out of the six sets of 20,734 students that graduated.

Professor Tenuche added that all the institution’s 48 programmes have been accredited fully by the National Universities Commission.
