The police had arrested them for defying the warning against protesting the repossession of the tollgate by the Lekki Concession Company (LCC).

The tollgate had been without control since October 20, 2020, when #EndSARS protesters were forcefully dispersed by security operatives.
However, last week, the judicial panel probing the #EndSARS crisis ruled that the company should resume its activities at the tollgate.
The development had sparked an outrage, following which some persons chose to protest at the facility.
The government and security operatives had warned people to stay away from the tollgate but the protesters converged on the place earlier in the day and they were arrested.
The police later arraigned them at the Yaba magistrate’s court in Lagos, where they were charged on the three counts of failing to comply with the Quarantine Law, which prohibit any social gathering to avoid spreading and contacting of Coronavirus Disease; breach of public peace, harassment, and causing unnecessary alarm to the public.
They were later granted bail in the sum of N100,000 each.
