The monarch urged Nigerians to pray for their leaders.
“So, when you look at the security challenges we’re facing in Nigeria, it lies with the leadership. If we get the leadership right from the grassroots, our problem will not be as it is today, everybody is a leader and if you’re a leader, you’ve to accept you’re a leader,” he said.
The chairman of the occasion, former Senate President Anyim Pius Anyim, said: “When leaders are recruited without proper training, certainly, they would not have any basis to apply certain principles that would make them do their work efficiently and dependable”.
The Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Faruk Yahaya, directed that the leadership principles highlighted in the book be included in the curriculum of corps headquarters and training institutions.
