The Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) has appointed Dr Chinyere Almona as the new Director-General of the chamber effective July 1, 2021.
According to a statement from LCCI, she took over from Dr Muda Yusuf who retired after serving 13 years as DG and who has been with the chamber for 24 years in all.

Commenting on the retirement of Dr Yusuf, president of the chamber, Mrs Toki Mabogunje, said, “He is a respected public commentator on macroeconomic issues, regulatory environment, economic reforms, policy and institutional reforms, trade policy issues and investment climate matters.”
According to Mabogunje, the appointment of Dr Almona who holds a doctorate degree in Business Administration from Business School, Netherlands, is an added value to the well-established profile of the chamber.
She brings with her about 30 years of diversified experience through her various work experience roles.
The newly appointed DG is a member of the editorial team at Emerald – Corporate Governance, The International Journal of Business in Society. She is a published author, an international speaker and an accredited IFC trainer.
