A magistrates’ court sitting in Ilorin, Kwara State, has ordered the remand of a lawyer, Abdulfatai Yusuf, in the correctional centre at Oke Kura for defrauding his client, Omoniyi Asiwaju, of N2 million.
The plaintiff had reported that the suspect was contracted to help him recover some money of a disposed land from one of his clients.

The prosecutor, Innocent Owoọla, told the court that, “But after he collected the money, he failed to recover the land money and also refused to return the N2m.”
Counsel to the accused, Barrister Kola Edun, urged the court to grant his client bail.
But the prosecutor said the suspect had earlier refused to appear in court despite several invitations.
The Magistrate, Olanikewu Shuaib, ordered the remand of the suspect and adjourned to October 17.
