Investors in a crypto-currency deal have petitioned the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to arrest and recover their funds from operators of the platform.
In the letter dated February 1, 2021, signed by their lawyer, Ifeanyi Mamah, the petitioners informed the EFCC that their monies, which runs into hundreds of millions of naira belonging to the operators’ accounts with Kuda Microfinance Bank Ltd, are missing.

The petition was brought on behalf of other investors by: Odili Blessing (N1.3m); Fatai Ayoola Shodunke (N1.6m); Rosemary Ugwu (N.5m); Joseph Adejo Ephraim (N.3m); Chidiebera Eziekwe (N290,000); Toochi Adline Samuel (N100, 000); Eze Godwin (N112, 000); Chinedu Ogunoh Francis (N37, 425); Odueke Ngozi Roseline (N30, 000); Adedokun Ismail Femi (N1.8m); Samuel Michael Desmond (N94, 237); and Chidiebere Stephen Eziekwe (N.6m).
The petitioners stated that the syndicate operating an alleged fraudulent website promises that members receive cash back while shopping online from over 700 commerce stores globally.
“This notwithstanding, investors induced to put in their monies were given assurance of certain percentage interest and withdrawal of capital on demand. This turned out to be fraud,” the letter read.
“Consequently, our clients’ capitals, amongst others running into hundreds of millions of Naira paid into the individual accounts of the above fraudsters/beneficiaries held with Kuda Microfinance Bank Ltd provided by MyBonus cannot be accessed any longer. The website’s server DNS can no longer be found and MyBonus application downloaded from google play store is no more functional since January 2021.”
