The list of aspirants for Lagos East senatorial elections, yesterday, swelled further as another All Progressive Congress (APC) chieftain, Wasiu Banjo, declared his interest to vie for the vacant seat.
The seat became vacant following the death of Senator Bayo Osinowo who represented the district.

Barr. Banjo, a grassroots politician and lawyer, declared his interest for the position through a letter submitted to the APC leadership in the state.
This came after a group, Lagos Frontliners’ Initiative, declared support for the lawyer-cum-politician to contest for the vacant seat in the red chamber.
The aspirant, through his letter to the party leadership, indicated his interest to represent the senatorial constituency at the National Assembly.
Speaking yesterday, Banjo described himself as the most qualified and experienced politician suitable for the seat.
