A House of Representatives member representing Kagarko/Kachia Federal Constituency, Hon. Jagaba Adams Jagaba has dumped the All Progressive Congress (APC) alongside 4, 556 others for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) across the 23 local government of Kaduna state.

The reception ceremony held for the decampees, which took place in Zonkwa, Zangon Kataf Local Area Government area of the state on Monday, witnessed an unprecedented turnout of prominent PDP officials both at the state and national level.

At the event, a former PDP national chairman, Senator Ahmed Makarfi, said the event was significant, urging those who had returned to the party to join hands to realise its objectives.

Makarfi expressed optimism that in no distance time, the party would regain its lost glory.

"We must ensure that we protect our votes and guard against any form of rigging."  

Also speaking, the state party chairman, Dr. Hassan Hyet decried the blame game of the ruling APC stressing that PDP in its 16 years in power had recorded strides in infrastructural development.

Similarly, the PDP national secretary, Senator Umar Ibrahim Tsauri, expressed optimism that the party is in its way back to the reckoning. 

He also urged party faithfuls not to trade words before or during election.  

Responding on behalf of the returnees, Hon. Jagaba, said the returnees and PDP as a whole had learnt from its past mistakes and assured party members that PDP would safeguard their interests.
