The lawmaker representing Ajingi, Albasu and Gaya Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Abdullahi Mahmud Gaya, has empowered over 700 women from his constituency for poultry production as a measure of ensuring self-sustainability.
According to the member, the empowerment programme was aimed at boosting small scale poultry farming in the area under his ‘AMG Sustainable Families Support Programme’.
Represented by the immediate past Gaya Local Government chairman, Alhaji Ahmad Tashi, at the official distribution exercise of N20, 000 to each beneficiary of the programme, Gaya said that 300 more women were also empowered.
One of the beneficiaries, Malama Maryam, who spoke on behalf of the others, called on other office-holders to emulate the house member.
