Vice Chancellor of LASU, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, congratulated the team for their success, which she said has further strengthened LASU’s place as a research and innovation hub.

She also described the stride as a significant step in the race to becoming the best university in West Africa, promising to give the team all needed support in executing the project.

The VREF is the collective name for four foundations that collaborate to finance research and education in the areas of transportation, environment, and energy.

The four VREF foundations are: the Volvo Research Foundation, the Volvo Educational Foundation, the Dr. Pehr G. Gyllenhammar Foundation, and the Håkan Frisinger Foundation for Transport Research.

The foundations through VREF focused on the area of Future Urban Transport (FUT) with the subtitle, ‘How to deal with complexity’.

VREF is tax-exempt in accordance with Swedish law, which means the foundations aim to serve the public good.
