The Governor of Lagos State and Visitor to the Lagos State University (LASU), Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Tuesday inaugurated a Special visitation panel to the varsity to look into the delayed appointment of a substantive vice chancellor (VC).
The panel was raised following the controversy trailing the appointment of a substantive vice chancellor for the state-owned university.

The six-member panel is headed by the Pro-Chancellor of Ekiti State University, Professor Bamitale Omole (chairman); a renowned university don, Prof. Ayo Olukotun; former VC of University of Port Harcourt, Prof. Joseph Ajienka; former registrar of University of Ibadan, Olujimi Olukoya; former Lagos State Solicitor General and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Justice, Lawal Pedro (SAN) and Mrs. Funmilola Olajide, secretary.
Sanwo-Olu, while inaugurating the panel in Ikeja, urged the members to in addition to the issue of appointment of a VC look into other issues affecting the university.
He urged the panel to discharge its responsibilities with fairness and firmness so that LASU can take its rightful place in the community of universities.
