Larry Ekundayo, Nigeria’s number one boxer, has vowed to fight like a warrior in his next fight, to make Nigerians and his major sponsors proud.
Ekundayo will be defending his European IBF Welterweight belt, as well as fighting for the vacant intercontinental belt in the coming months.
“I will fight like a warrior for Nigeria in my next fight and make Baba Ijebu (one of his sponsors), the country and the elders of my nation proud,” he vowed.
Ekundayo has been, via his commercial agent in Nigeria, Khomeini Bukhari, reaching out to the high and mighty to seek support ahead of his next fights.
The boxer, being a big fan of Sir Kensington Adebutu (the Balogun of Remo Land), the Chairman of Premier Lotto, aka Baba Ijebu, sent the right glove he wore in his latest victory -which he used in defending his IBF European welterweight belt against Louis Greene- to the businessman to appreciate all he has done for Nigerians.
The presentation of Larry Ekundayos glove was done at the Premier Lotto Head office in Lagos, on Tuesday March 19th 2019. Present was Prince Bisi Olatilo, the Chairman/ CEO of Biscon Communications and a friend of Baba Ijebu.
In an interview, Khomeini Bukhari, the Director of Peel Aston Global, Africa Division said, “I am very happy to have presented this glove to Baba Ijebu. He truly is a great man and very sympathetic towards human feelings.
He said that “I want to thank all that have supported Larry Ekundayo in his bid to win a world title on Nigerian soil, they are visionaries and true leaders.”
When asked about the gift, Larry Ekundayo said, “I’ve always looked up to him (Baba Ijebu). To me, he is a real father of the nation. As a father, he is a giver and selfless and those are the qualities that Baba Ijebu is famous for.
“I am inspired by his support and…I would like to thank all my supporters, with Baba Ijebu and others’ support, we will surely bring glory to Nigeria.”
