Governor Aliyu Akwe Doma had during an inspection of the stadium, admonished the female players to find husbands and marry for the sake of their future. The Amazons have not also been paid their sign off fees during the period of between 2007 and now.

Two lawyers, namely Barristers Sam Abimiku and Aku Christopher of S.U. Abimiku and Associates sealed off the property, which is situated at the back of Lafia Township Stadium, Lafia, displacing the female soccer players for the second time in less than three months.

A notice of intention to recover payment in default had already been served to the state commissioner of sports, Danlamin Awaje who confirmed to newsmen after the seal off that due to what he called “no release of funds”, the government had been unable to settle the rents.

The commissioner who spoke in his office acknowledged he inherited what he called “so much debt” including the sign off fees and sundry matter, but added that he had no brief of the outstanding rents for Amazons camp, although he ruled out fraud.
