Plateau State Governor Simon Lalong has said those responsible for the recent looting and vandalization in the state, hiding under the #EndSARS protest, will be prosecuted to serve as deterrent.
The governor spoke when the Plateau indigenes caucus in the National Assembly visited him over the looting of government and private properties in the state.

The caucus also visiting to sympathize with the people of the state and to assess the level of damage caused by the looters.
The governor said there was no justification whatsoever for people to loot government facilities and private properties in any guise, adding that the act was criminal and would not be condoned.
Lalong said he was still meeting with the genuine leadership of the #EndSARS protesters in the state to find a way forward, adding that the group also condemned the actions of the looters.
He said he would not allow the actions of the criminal elements to affect the innocent and law-abiding citizens, adding that the hundreds of persons arrested so far have been giving useful information and the authorities knew exactly the people to go after.
He charged the lawmakers to preach peace to their constituents at all times so that they can turn a new leaf.
The leader of the group and the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Ahmed Idris Wase, lamented the magnitude and effect of the crisis that ensued.
