Minister of Labour and Employment, Simon Lalong, has said the tourism potentials of Plateau State is instrumental to the advancement of the state and will continue to flourish particularly through sports development.
The Minister who is also the Senator-elect for Plateau South Senatorial District spoke at the weekend at the Lamingo Golf Club Jos, where he performed the tee-off at the 2023 Governor’s Golf Tournament.
He said he was happy that the game of golf and the annual Governors cup tournament he started has continued to progress, adding that if it is sustained it will bring more tourists to the state and boost the local economy.
Lalong called on the Government and private sector to support not only the game of golf but other sports which can develop the State further.

In his remarks, Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, represented by Special Adviser on Security, Gen. G.G. Shipi (rtd), said the government is committed to sustaining the tournament and boosting the economy.
Captain of Lamingo Golf Club, Rev. Fr. Blaise Agwom, said the tournament has players from within and outside Nigeria, competing in both professional and amateur categories.
