The Plateau State Civil Service Commission has disclosed that the Governor Simon Lalong of the state has approved the recruitment of about 1, 661 new workers across the various cadres into the state’s civil service.
The commission made the disclosure through its Chairman, Chief Dajung Fompun during a press conference in Jos on Tuesday.
“Even the ad-hoc staff working with the state government would have an opportunity to participate in the recruitment process, because earlier this year about 300 ad-hoc staff of Ministry of Land and Survey were fully employed by the state government.” He said.
Daily Trust gathered that the summary of the recruitment as approved by the governor has shown that Ministry of Education would have vacancy of 161 non-teaching staff, Plateau Hospital Management Board with 108; Office of the Head of the Civil Service (OHCS) with 77 and Plateau Agricultural Development Programme (PADP) with 62 vacancies.
The summary also added that both Plateau State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board and Plateau State Muslims Pilgrims Welfare Board would have nine vacancies to fill.
Plateau State Disability Rights Commission has 54 vacancies, while Plateau State House of Assembly has 21 slots
