Accreditation and voting did not commence until after 10:00am when INEC officials with election materials arrived many polling units in Oshodi local government area of Lagos state.
As at the time of filling this report, there are some polling booths that are yet to receive their materials due to transport logistics, according to INEC sources who craved anonymity.
It was gathered that, all materials and personnel were at Owoseni Primary School, but due to insufficient transportation, the buses are conveying them to their polling booths one after the other.
While some arrived their polling booths past 10am, others got to their booths around 11am and others past 11am.
In Ward 017, there were no security personnel in sight, although the patrol vehicle belonging to the Nigerian Air Force was seen around.
Other wards such as Ward 01 unit 008 have two police officers and a civil defence officer.
In unit 034, 012 and 009, there are two police officers and two civil defence men on ground with a patrol team constantly monitoring them.
In a chat with an electorate simply identified as Daddy Fatimah, in his ward, polling unit 034, the card reader failed after having accredited five persons.
Before the arrival of an INEC engineer meant to fix it, the machine started working again.
The card readers in all other units were working effectively although there is only one ink provided for unit 008, our reporter learnt.
Pregnant women, the elderly and disabled were given preferential treatment to cast their votes before others; while in some cases, they were given chair to sit while other electorates are being attended to.
There is a large turnout of voters in all the polling booths visited by our reporter till noon on Saturday.
