One and half hours after waiting for arrival of staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in vain, registered voters in Oshodi area of Lagos state, have expressed their optimism, while insisting they will wait at the polling booth till the arrival of both INEC staff and election materials.

According to the INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, INEC staff alongside election materials were expected to be at each polling booth by 8am.

However, our reporter reports that as at the time of filling this report by 9:30am, no staff or materials were seen at the polling booths in Oshodi area.

During a tour of some polling booths in the area, many electorates, both young and old, were seen loitering around, waiting in anticipation for the exercise to commence.

In a chat with some of them, they insisted that the delay will not affect their decision to vote as they are ready to wait till the time both materials and INEC officials are on ground in order to cast their votes.
