The Japan External Trade Organisation, (JETRO) has unveiled new products made in Japan for women at the ongoing Lagos International Trade Fair in Onikan, Lagos
With the theme, made in Japan, made for women, the trade Commissioner of JETRO in Lagos, Shigeyo Nishizawa revealed that various Japanese companies exhibited and introduced new products for women at the fair.
Some of the products such as O2 nails mobile painter, a new technology machine for printing on nails, allows a woman to choose a nail design on the phone and the machine will print on it.
Other Japanese products at the fair for women are: Kanekalon synthetic hair fibre, Ajinomoto for cooking, Darling hair, curry mix for cooking, sewing machine for housewives, X-pression hair, headphones for women, among other items.
Speaking with Daily Trust in Lagos, Nishizawa, who is also JETRO’s Managing Director (MD), said exhibitors are keen to enter and expand their business in Nigeria, which he referred to as the biggest market in Africa.
He said, compared to previous trade fairs, the Japanese pavilion has expanded in size from 1,750m² in 2017 to 2,125m² gross size in the 2018 edition.
Speaking further, he said, the Japanese companies that exhibited this year are 30 compared to the 23 who exhibited in 2017.
The Japanese exhibitors had on display, products ranging from food, vehicles such as Honda and Mitsubishi, transportation machinery like motorcycles, trucks and auto parts.
In addition, he said participants from Japan and their local representative agents displayed products such as stationery, home appliances, hair care products and fibres, power generators, dietary supplements, electrical tools, among others.
