According to Udo-Obong, the registered schools will be competing in the boys and girls U-13 and U-15 100m races as well as the relays amongst other events.

“The international schools’ athletics championship is designed to bring high-level competition to kids at the early stage to expose them to international standards.

“It is hoped that it creates a truly international event that brings together students from all over Africa, breaking down social and cultural barriers to celebrate the talents and diversity our continent boasts of.

“The bringing of kids from different backgrounds, cultures and educational systems would enhance social integration, friendship and promote true Olympism.

“It is hoped that the event brings out the talent of everyone, creates memories for the children and most importantly develops life-long friendships,” Udo-Obong said.

Schools like Whitesands Lagos, Osadenis Mixed Secondary School Asaba, Command Secondary School Ipaja, Graceland School Uyo and The Foundation Science Secondary School Zaria Kaduna State amongst others.
