The Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Thursday expressed support for the Senator Ahmed Makarfi-led National Caretaker Committee.
Members of the party at its General Assembly meeting held at the party secretariat unanimously adopted a motion affirming the leadership of Makarfi as the leader of the party.
State chairman of the party, Hon. Moshood Salvador, who spoke with newsmen, reiterated that the leader of the party in the state, Chief Bode George, the entire state executive and members of the party are unanimous in their adoption of Makarfi and they are solidly behind him.
"The entire party structures in the state including our leader, Chief Bode George are solidly behind Ahmed Makarfi, who was appointed as caretaker chairman of the party in Port Harcourt last year", Salvador said.
Meanwhile, the party has begun moves to declare the seats of some of its members who defected to the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the state House of Assembly vacant. It would be recalled that six of the eight PDP lawmakers in the house dumped the party recently.
