Lagos PDP divided over ministerial slot

Two press statements by different groups within the party had indicated that the party has not harmonized its position on who should be nominated.
A group, which described itself as Network For Justice (NFJ) in a statement signed by its coordinator, Dr. Adebisi Akinbinu called on President Jonathan to appoint Ibrahim Babajide Obanikoro, son of former Nigerian ambassador to Ghana, Musiliu Obanikoro.
The group pointed out that the popularity of Obanikoro’s son “was evident in the fact that he defeated the national leader of the All Progressive Party (APC) in his local government but was denied victory through what it called a jungle electoral system.
It said PDP may continue to lose election in the state if it continues to rely on the strength of old war horses in the state who are irreconcilably divided.
A different statement by another group in the party, the Platinum Men Association of Lagos State said it has carried out clinical analysis of those jostling to be minister in the state and has found worthy, Moshood Salvador.
