Lagos man arraigned for disguising as beggar to steal phone

The police in Lagos State have arraigned a 27-year-old man, Moses Adeniyi, in a magistrates’ court sitting in Yaba for stealing a phone while disguising as a beggar.

The prosecutor, Thomas Nurudeen, alleged that the accused gained access into his former company and that he was about exiting the premises with a Samsung belonging to one Ifeamyi Okafor when he was arrested.

The prosecutor explained that the accused was a former worker at Panda Events Complex on Commercial Avenue, Sabo, but was sacked some time ago by the management of the company.

He further said that the accused, allegedly disguised as a beggar to gain access into the complex, sneaked into one of the offices from where he stole the Samsung phone.

After the accused pleaded not guilty, the Magistrate, P.E. Nwaka, ordered his remand and adjourned.
