The Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA) has launched its first-ever fuel station located at the agency’s office at Falomo-Ikoyi in Lagos.
According to the General Manager of LASWA, Mr. Damilola Emmanuel, the primary aim of the initiative is to boost water transportation activities, through the selling of PMS to boats on the inland waterways.

He explained that the initiative will further promote water transportation safety by discouraging the use of jerry cans and kegs for fuel storage on board.
Emmanuel said the filling station will be operated by Ibile Oil and Gas Company (IOGC), the agency of government in charge of the downstream sector.
