The 2021 edition of the Lagos International Poetry Festival starts on October 21. The event themed “Ancestral Imaginings,” is expected to end on October 24, 2021.
A statement released by the organiser said, “this year’s festival leans into the wisdom and vision of the old and young, to guide us through the rubble of a pandemic. A generational journey aided by generational memory.”

Despite huge pay, senators, reps, fleece aides
The hybrid session entails conversations, performances on a range of themes from a diverse pool of writers, poets, and thinkers drawn from across generations.
While the guests’ line-up is yet to be released, guests that have attended past editions include Chika Jones, Dami Ajayi, Uzo Maxim Uzoatu, Peter Akinlabi, Niran Okewole, Tade Ipadeola, Toni Kan, Wana Udobang, Chris Abani, Koleka Putuma, Ladan Osman, Inua Ellams and Titilope Sonuga.
The Lagos International Poetry Festival brings together poets, writers, artists, and thinkers from across the world to Lagos for a week of conversations, readings, performances, workshops and adventure.
