Lagos: Ijanikin office of FRSC, VIO set ablaze by hoodlums

The Zonal office of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) was on Thursday set ablaze by urchins who stormed the premises around 1pm.

Also touched was the Zonal office of the Vehicles Inspection Officer (VIO) which collocated with the FRSC.

Scores of hoodlums had besieged the compound armed with jerrycans filled with petrol.

The arsonists also attacked the officers who were on ground to protect the station.

It was learnt that the suspects also carted away generators while some seized vehicles were vandalized.

The unit Commander could not be reached on phone as he was said to have gone to the state Headquarters of FRSC, at Ojodu Berger.
