A member of the House of Representatives, representing Ibeju/Lekki Federal Constituency in Lagos State, Abayomi Ayeola, has died.

Ayeola, a two-term federal legislator, was also the leader of the Lagos State lawmakers’ caucus in the House of Representatives.

The Assistant Publicity Secretary of the All Progressive Congress in the state, Abiodun Salami, confirmed the death of the lawmaker to Daily Trust last night.

Ayeola was said to have died at the St. Nicholas Hospital,  Lagos Island, after a brief illness. He had recently secured a return ticket of the party to the House of Representatives.
